With continuous hard work at home, and consistent lessons from the Henry's, Nat and I have been able to pull of multiple trial wins in the Novice Class up and down the east coast.

We met David Henry back in 2020 when we were looking for a breeder. He has some of the top dogs in the country. We also looked to David for stock dog training for our dog, Jade. He made a winner out of her! She has competed around the country and has been very successful. We also attended one of David’s seminars in Pennsylvania where he did three days of intense handler training. What ever your need is, Fieldstone Stockdogs is # 1 .

David was one of the first people I met at the very first trial I ever attended. Like I’ve seen him do to many newcomers since, he came up to me with a warm smile and a friendly handshake and introduced himself to me and my family. He is a genuinely nice guy and is passionate about training and trialing cattle dogs. David wants everyone to do their best and has been more than willing to help me and my family with tips and training advice long before I had ever paid him for lessons or purchased any dog from him. A lot of trainers specialize in a certain type or bloodline of dog and if your dog doesn’t fit their mold they will not work with it. That’s not the type of guy David is. He is willing to change his style of training to fit the dog he’s working with to get the most out of that animal. He understands that sometimes the goal is not to have the best trial dog but to make the most out of the animal we have and love. He does the same thing with handler lessons. He draws from his many years of experience in both the sheepdog and cattle dog world to help a handler understand how to get the most out of their dog. He understands how the dogs think and helps the handler to see from the dogs point of view so they can work as a team.
If you are in the market for a new dog I couldn’t recommend anyone higher than David. He is a matchmaker for dogs! A lot of people have a dog or two that they are trying to sell and they will basically sell it to anyone with the money. That’s not Davids approach at all. He prides himself on matching the dog with the right person even if that means he doesn’t get a sale. He’s been in it long enough that he knows its better to miss out on a sale that to pair a dog and handler that don’t get along. That’s why when it came time to retire my youngest son’s dog I knew there was only one guy I trusted to find him a replacement. He had several dogs to pick from at the time and the one he recommended for Alex was certainly not the most expensive or even the strongest dog he had for sale at the time but he knew it would be the best fit for him. We couldn’t be happier with the choice. The two of them make a great team and within three months from the time we purchased him Alex won the NCA novice national championship!
